The original production Panelák explores the coexistence of hearing and deaf people. Everyday encounters in the corridors and stairwells of a prefabricated apartment building give rise to grotesque situations of misunderstanding and strenuous efforts to understand each other despite obstacles and fear of the unknown. The production uses a minimum of words. It brings Czech sign language, physical acting, and artistic gestures to the stage. It is accessible to both deaf and hearing audiences.
