About Festival
Theatre World Brno is the largest theatre festival in the Czech Republic and is a unique combination of the cooperation of the National Theatre Brno, Husa na provázku Theatre, Municipal Theatre Brno, Radost Theatre, Polárka Theatre and JAMU art scenes. It brings to Brno a delicate selection of foreign productions and the best of Czech theatre for the year. The Theatre World Brno festival is several days packed with great drama, chamber projects, dance productions, site-specific performances, accompanying programme and events for professionals. Each year the festival is filled with performances that fall into recurring dramaturgical lines, as well as productions reflecting current social issues and documentary works dedicated to some of the theatre personalities who have become a phenomenon in their field. In 2027, the Theatre World Brno festival will take place from May 19 to 25, 2027. The 2026 Theatre World Brno Festival was held under the patronage of Oto Klempíř, Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic; JUDr. Markéta Vaňková, Mayor of Brno; Mgr. Jan Grolich, Governor of the South Moravian Region; and His Excellency Stéphane Crouzat, Ambassador of the French Republic.
