In the Hall of Mirrors

A comics pop-up concert. Beauty is magic. An unattainable goal, a drug, power, and a curse. Both a product and capital, a lucky coin of fate and an eternal memento mori. Social networks convey the impression of beauty, consume it, and losing it means losing your trump card in the unfair game of capitalism. Beauty is a privilege. We already know that women are judged much more on their appearance (and often only on their appearance), that attractive people are attributed more positive qualities, get better jobs, and are treated better by society in many ways. But what are the chances of liberation when we also know that capitalism will transform every revolt into a new product?
