THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.

The human species is an integral part of the living world that inhabits the Earth. What unites it with all other forms of life is the evolutionary root they share: the DNA. Carrying all information about us and our characteristics, it develops on the basis of heredity and reflects the changes of the characteristics of our ancestors. It is through the process of natural selection—during which the most viable organisms come to prevail—that our DNA evolves and acquires new qualities. Often, we talk with a great deal of exaggeration about what we ‘have or don’t have in our DNA’. Sometimes we even attribute a DNA to inanimate objects, phenomena or notions. Likewise, the choreographers Uladzimir Ivanou and Markéta Pimek Habalová let themselves be inspired by the “DNA of the Theatre World Brno Festival” which—hyperbolically speaking—can carry cultural genomes of our societies or various information about the issues that the festival addresses this year. As a result, we are going to fly through the three-part choreography entitled “DNA” to music by the composer Murcof as we ‘fly’ through all the ages encoded in our double helix, witnessing the spontaneous process of biosphere evolution.
