“Hi, I’m Kuba, but they call me Hamlet. A really bad thing happened to me – my mom and I are moving to Radotín! Why can’t everything be like it used to be? And where did dad go?” To go or not to go? How to decide? Is it more dignified to go out, even if I don’t want to go to Radotín at all, or to throw away the key and end the misery forever by rebelling? About 50% of children in the Czech Republic will experience the separation of their parents. So it is not unusual or strange, and we adults should not be afraid to talk to them about it. If we do it right, we can show them that unpleasant things happen in life, but they never last forever.

Hamlet is William Shakespeare’s most performed drama, and Hamlet spends the most time of any of Shakespeare’s famous characters talking to the audience.

The text of the production works with excerpts from William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, translated by Zdeněk Urbánek.
