In the leadership of Czech and Slovak publicly funded theatres, we can increasingly find dramaturgs in top positions. How can dramaturgical skills best be combined with managerial demands? Can dramaturgy in leadership be understood as an opportunity for systemic change? What challenges do women and men in these roles face?

This discussion brings together highly experienced professionals who also carry significant responsibility within the field. It is the first public gathering of its kind, aiming to position dramaturgy as a decisive and self-confident profession.

The discussion follows up on the handbook Dramaturgy as a Job Position, developed as an outcome of the dramaturgical HR workshop held within DSB 2025.
