Martina and Martina.
Martina (Hajdyla) has 20 years of dance experience, three children, the ME-SA artistic platform, and a Thalia Award.
Martina (Trusková) is 20 years old, has two siblings, the Aldente Theater, and countless identities: Lord Voldemort, Xindl X, Zdeněk Svěrák, and Jesus Christ. And he also has Down syndrome. A search for a shared entity and authentic identity through mutual encounters, dissonance, and consonance. Musicians Martina Rousová and Jan Kyncl accompany them in this process.

Balancing on the edge of (physical) theatre and ritual, as well as on the contrast between a dancer and a performer with Down syndrome. An experiment involving the perception of the spectator, who is a voyeur at times, and at other times the one who is observed; at times he or she are themselves, at other times they are somedody else or a part of the whole, a seamless entity. It is through play and images that the spectator gets to know the discrepancy between a wanted identity and a real identity, between the identity of one’s body and that of one’s mind, between one’s own identity and the identity assigned to us by the society.

This joint project by Divadlo Aldente and the ME-SA art platform was created in collaboration with the Divadelní svět Brno festival and the co.labs cultural center.
