A wild ride of civilized white men into the depths of the jungle. A theatrical experiment on the edge between radio play and immersive theatre, where you will be able – for the first time in your life – to roll around in the theatre like in your living room. Two soldiers travel on a secret mission to the heart of the wilderness. The further they stray from Western civilization, the more reality and fantasy intertwine on their journey. The dangerous journey into the depths of the Afghan wilderness is also a dangerous journey into the darkness of the human soul. Lotz’s play The Ridiculous Darkness is an intelligent, witty, and unconventional commentary on the situation of today’s “Western” society. Have we managed to come to terms with our colonial heritage? Who is the bearer of civilization today, and who is the barbarian? And what can an author who studied creative writing and still lives with his parents in Leipzig write about this?
