The Snow Queen and the Black Mirror
Dramaturgical introduction
Inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale, this original play tells about the soul, about joy and suffering, about the courage to feel, the courage to be yourself, about doubts and hope, about what we have forgotten, about what we begin to miss only when we lose it. This story will not be about winter, frost, or snow. It will not be about the Snow Queen, although she will play an important role in it. This story features Wisdom, Love, Fear, Beauty, and many other characters. But none of them will know who they really are. Wisdom will not know that it is Wisdom, Love will not know that it is Love. And neither will you. After all, who knows what Wisdom or Cowardice looks like? You will have to imagine, think, invent, laugh, or cry. Let this story be for everyone what it can be.
