A person and their transformation. The necessity to anchor one’s identity in the binary gender system is slowly becoming anachronistic. But the way out of the patriarchal bondage is far from being easy. The past needs to be revised, and not just reflected on. We have to free ourselves from it in order to find freedom in the present. In what ways does social transformation shape us, and how is it shaped by us? To what extent does freedom plunge us into unfreedom? Am I a man, a woman, or a queer person? And what has poetry to do with it? How to opt for the right manner of speech? The play is based on the novel Orlando by British modernist author Virginia Woolf and the collection Brief Interviews with Hideous Men by American metamodernist writer David Foster Wallace.
